BiRT Excel export

Hey guys, i am back on doing some Birt stuff since the customer wants some excel export. now i got the problem that my images in my report arent shown on my excel file when i export it. according to an older post (<a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='http://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/t/360862/'>http://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/t/360862/</a>) the default emitter isnt supporting images. is that still up to date, or whats the status about it? greetz Florian

What version of BIRT are you using? I *think* that the default emitter was changed in 4.3.2 to one that supports images.

Hey sorry was on vacation. i am using birt 4.3.2. Do i need to set a imagehandler? atm i got none set because the tutorial i used didnt mention it. btw is it possible to export them into xlsx instead of xls?

I fixed it. it was just not possible with xls files. no i am using xlsx files as export filetype and it work. the only problem i got now is that the format is bull**** now

Sorry for the slow response, I was out of town . Happy to hear you can get images to export with the XLSX emitter, what formatting issues are you having? Can you post a screenshot of the issue?

Hey will do post a screen later. Its just because the images are in the same columns as the data. would be nice if i can just combine columns under the images

is the Excel export file. the chart at the bottom influences the collumn size what i actually dislike. 2nd thing is that the header isnt shown on excel (i've cut it off on PDF file) can i set a setting to the chart so it takes place over multiple columns?

I tried to force the excel output to automatically resize with several different options. The only way I seem to be able to force the columns to hold a specific width is to set it in the settings of that table column. I tried to set all four of my columns to 25% and that didn't work. So I had to use inches. I didn't try any of the other types though. As far as having the chart across multiple columns you can merge the cells and place your chart in there, take a look at my example. Hopefully I understood what you're trying to do, if not let me know and I'll adjust the example as needed. I used the XLSX emitter for this, not the spudsoft one.
