Hi,

as far as I know, this is not possible. Everytime you change your parent parameter, the child is updated and the default value "lost".

BTW, there is no possibility OOTB to set the first returned row as default value

unfortunately same answer : As far as I know, this is not possible.

I've tried many many times but found no solution.

The scritpting events for parameter are only getDefaultValueList, getDefinitionValueList and validate.

The two first are called before the parameter window appears and the last one at the end (on the OK button before report generation).

In the meantime : nothing.

On google, you can find some examples using the API but I have never tested them.

Hi,

yes and no.

You can't set a custom message, but if you check the "required" check box, you will have a default one and the report will not be run until a correct parameter has been set.
