Rendering HTML Table with specific width
vishal.mestri

Hi,

We are fetching html text captured from Rich Text Editor and want to display it as part of BIRT PDF Report.

We have done following settings:-

1. We have used dynamic text with content type as "HTML".

2. We have used "Layout Preference" as "Auto Layout" under report general section.

Html is getting rendered but table column widths are not coming properly.

I am attaching sample report which contains sample data as well.

If I copy text in simple html file, column width is maintained , but in case of report generated from pdf , it is not maintained.

Please find attachments:-

1. Sample report : new_report_1.rptdesign

2. Pdf generated by using sample report: new_report_1[2].pdf

Please suggest how to fix this issue.

Our client formats text in word then pastes it into Rich text editor. This text is saved into database. BIRT Report fetches this rich text from db and renders it inside pdf.

Regard,

Vishal

It looks this might be a bug with the emitter. In the sample viewer and BVT it looks like the HTML renders correctly. Where PDF from both are incorrect. Can you file a bug for this <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='

. Also, I haven't tried it, but it looks like it might be off just a little bit, you might try making the columns wider but just a few points and see if that corrects the problem.
