DCRs

Hi,

I'm brand new to TeamSite and need some help. Do I have to manually write a DCR(XML). Or can TeamSite use my database to pick the values for creating the DCR? If yes, can someone please elaborate or tell me which docs to I need to look at for further help.

Hmmm. Don't take this the wrong way, but I think you may need to run through the manuals or maybe take a class (IWOV education is pretty good).

A DCR is the output of a Data Capture Template. You can write them by hand or have a DB output the content in the appropriate format. THEN you would need to associate the file so IWOV recognizes it as a templated file (aka setting extended attributes). Of course there is a whole lot more around building the template and the presentation file.

OR
in your template, create callouts that retrieve data from your DB
OR
in your Presentation template cake calls to the DB.
