Extraneous Code in VisualFormat editor

Does anyone know of a setting or procedure that will stop the VF editor from adding extraneous code? When our users paste HTML code into the editor's window, it tends to automatically add unwanted code. We want any code entered into the window to remain as-is.

Also, does anyone know how to increase the size of the editor's window?
