Is the query run once if three charts use the same datasource?

<p>Suppose I have three charts which use the same dataset. All the charts have three different filters applied. Is the query sent to database once or is it sent three times , separate query for each chart?</p>

The filter is applied at the chart? If so, I believe the default would be to cache the dataset and only run it once. If you select the dataset and go to the advanced properties in the property editor, you will find a setting for "needs cache for data engine". This should be set to true.
