FType - Use user related data from an external system
RepBIRT

Would like to use user related data from an external database, rather creating user details in Ftype portal.

It would be great if some one could share the steps / references.

Hi RepBIRT,

We are currently working on creating a document which will provide details on connecting F-Type to an existing LDAP database.

Please stay tuned and we will have an answer posted soon.

Apologize for the delay in answering this as we were doing some research on how to make this possible. With BIRT iHub (full version not F-Type) this is possible and we were trying to figure a way to retro-fit this feature for BIRT F-Type. Unfortunately this is not possible currently. We will be looking to include this feature in the next release.

To follow up on this post, a utility has been created that can be used to configure an F-Type installation with an LDAP or Active Directory.

The utility can be downloaded form the DevShare here: <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='
