I've migrated the birt report viewer and also the apache web server to another machine. In the past my company used birt viewer 2.6.1 and now I've installed 4.4.0. 
In the Report designer I changed the property "JDBC Driver JAR List" to the new location and version of OJDBC. OJDBC version is 7. 
I've also created a connection profile like described in the <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='http://wiki.eclipse.org/Birt_3.7_Migration_Guide#BIRT_POJO_Viewer_Deployment'>migration guide</a>. But when I calling my report nothing happens. No error message and no parameter form comes up. In the report designer the report runs correct.
 
test.rptdesign and test1.rptdesign are working correct!
 
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Are you able to preview your data in your data set?

Yes, in report designer I can preview the data. For this I have to replace in the SQL Statement the placeholder (?) with a value.
 
BTW, I am new with designing reports with BIRT. I have take over this from a colleague who has left the company.

Any way you could attach the design? If you leave the ? in and put a default value in for the parameters, you shouldn't have to replace the ? with a static value.

When I calling inventare_summary_conn_prof.rptdesign nothing happen. No error message and no parameter form appears.
When I calling inventare_summary_jdbc.rptdesign the Parameter form appears with the default values for the parameter but there are no data in the dropdown selections.

Do you get anything in your log files? If you avoid the connection profile and just enter static connection info, does it work?

When I run the Report with the static connection ( inventare_summary_jdbc.rptdesign) there are some entries in the log file. See attachment. Using the connection profile there is no entry in the log file.

I am up'ing this thread as I have the same problem as sdieders, ie loaded a report from 2.6.2 into 4.4 (just downloaded). Everything looks fine and I can preview my data in the datasets, but when previewing the report, I just get nothing.

I have one report parameter but I am not prompted for if I use the web preview. If I click on the "globe+sheet" icon, drop it down and select anything else than "View Report in Web Viewer", then I have an empty window "PARAMETER SELECTION PAGE" appearing but I cannot do anything with it.

I downloaded BIRT RCP designer 3.7.2 and loaded my report created in 2.6.2 (which has version 3.2.22) in it.
It got converted to a 3.2.23 version, but the result is the same as above (empty preview, parameters not prompted).

So it's not to do with upgrading older reports.
I found that the PARAMETER SELECTION PAGE actually has content that Firefox can display, but not Internet Explorer 11.
IE 11 says that it restricted the execution of scripts or Active X.
 
For the web preview, it's the same: the content can run ok in FIrefox (i'll see the progress bar going forever), but in IE11 I'll get a script/Active X warning.
 
I loosened security on activex, restarted the designer and tried again but it didn't help.
 
So I think it's an issue with browser security used for entering parameters and previewing the report as HTML.
 
By avoiding using the browser-related stuff ie:
- the HTML preview (ie directly generate eg PDF)
- report input form (ie by making the report parameter "hidden" and setting the default value to what I want)
 
I could generate my report in PDF.
I'll stop my investigation here as I managed to do what I wanted.

So, are you able to pass me a report designed with the sample database in 4.4 that shows this problem? I'd be very interested to see it happen.

I am not able to reproduce this behaviour with the sample database. I've created a new report with one parameter from the sample database and it works in the 4.4 report viewer.
