setting a text element value from rptdesign file with java cede

<p>I have a rptdesign file. i want to get a certain text or label element from rptdesign file and replace it's value with an other value(change element value for header and footer). anybody can help me?</p>

From the report design handle, you should be able to grab the element by name or id. Name would have required you to set the name of the element when you first designed the report.<br><br>getElementById(idNum)<br>or<br>getElement(stringName)<br><br>From there, if it's a label, you should be able to do a .setText(textString);<br><br>or if it's a text item, use setContent(textString);<br><br>You could also grab the element with a more specific function like: getTextItem(stringName) or getLabel(stringName).<br><br>Hope this helps.
