Creating report without real database connection

Hello all!

I have strange question. Is there any possibility to design report (drag and drop) without connection to database?
 
I think about situation when I know how will be database look like but for now I do not have connection to it or tables/perspective does not exist...
 
I know what will be queries but in case of empty database I receive errors because of empty dataset.

Hi,
 
yes, you can use scripted dateset or FlatFile if you want.
You just have to create your dataset (the output columns) exactly like it should be with the real db especially for the column name.
 
After that, when you have your db connection, create the real datasets and swittch the binding of the different report elements from the fake dataset to the real one.

Based on car modells I created case described by you.
 
I attach 2 files:
- data in txt file (not all records, it only example)
- report file with 2 data sources and 2 data sets
 
In this case your advice is working. I created connection to file -> made dataset -> "designed" table -> created datasource ("real") -> created final dataset -> changed binding in table => it all works fine
 
unfortunately in my case now - I know the final querry but have no connection (and can not have - privacy policy) to database so this above steps (I might be wrong) are not for my case
 
I would like to design report based on my knowledge about database but without real connection to it. Is it possible?
