<p>I have a requirement where I need to prompt a user via our web interface for the data source connection information (server, port, login, password) and then create a connection profile file on our webserver.</p>

<p>Is there a birt function i can use to encrypt the password the way that the birt designer UI does it so i can mimic that funcionality?</p>
