Special character in French cannot be displayed
zhanzhan

Hi, Everyone,

now i am working on internationalization of my report. According the tutorial of birt. I have already moved all texts into different properties files. It works good. But somehow, if my properties file is encoded with UTF-8,then some special character in French become some weird code (e.g. é becomes é ). if i use ISO-8859-1 o encode my properties file, then it works very well. Because my properties files are shared with other application. so i really want to keep them in UTF-8. and also, somebody just used Unicode in properties file to avoid this problem. but for Russian, Arabic this solution is not acceptable, because the whole properties file will be not readable anymore. So i would like to know if the birt force us to use ISO-8859-1 to read properties file or there are some other way that i can change the encoding for reading properties file?

test report project is attached.

Thank you for your help!

property files cannot be in UTF8 they need to be ASCII. If you have not ASCII characters you need to use nativetoascii. Here are some resources:
