Putting Queries in the open method
megabri
<p>I usually write my queries for maximo in the open script on a data set like this...</p>
<p> </p>
<div>maximoDataSet = MXReportDataSetProvider.create(this.getDataSource().getName(), this.getName());</div>
<div>maximoDataSet.open();</div>
<div>var sqlText = new String();</div>
<div> </div>
<div>sqlText = "SELECT lirr_urlfix(urlname) filename, doclinks.lirr_seq "</div>
<div>+ " FROM docinfo, workorder, doclinks "</div>
<div>+ " WHERE wonum = '" + params["wonum"] + "'"</div>
<div>+ " AND docinfo.DOCINFOID = doclinks.DOCINFOID "</div>
<div>+ " AND workorder.workorderid = doclinks.ownerid "</div>
<div>+ " and docinfo.doctype = 'CHNL PROF PIER' "</div>
<div>+ " and doclinks.ownertable = 'WORKORDER' "</div>
<div>+ " and workorder.siteid = 'ES' "</div>
<div>+ " order by lirr_seq" ;</div>
<div> </div>
<div>maximoDataSet.setQuery(sqlText);</div>
<div> </div>
<div>If i have a report i'm trying to make independent of maximo with a jdbc connection how would I write my query in the open method? </div>

<p>So you want to script it? If you set up a JDBC connection (Data Sources, right click New Data Source) once you have that setup, then add a Data Set, right click new and then you can just use BIRT to develop your query.</p>
