Deploying the BIRT report in GlassFish
dushank

Hi,

I'm new to BIRT. I develop all my project in NetBeans & GlassFish. I have Eclipse Luna with BIRT integrated and created some reports with it.

Now I want to deploy my reports in GlassFish with the report viewer (.war) and integrated them with my Applications.

1) From where do I download the birt.war (as described in the documentations but couldn't find the download location)

2) How to port the report files out of the Eclipse and deploy them in GlassFish

3) With the web report viewer, will it be possible to create drill down reports ?

Thanks in advance.

Hey Dushan,

1. You can download the BIRT runtime with contains the Sample Viewer at eclipse.org/birt. You can also use the free scheduling and security server BIRT iHub F-Type which can be downloaded at http://www.actuate.com/resources/product-downloads/

;

2. You would either put a web app that pulls content from the iHub or you would deploy the sample viewer to Glassfish and put your reports in the iHub or in the resource folder of the viewer.

3. You would create the reports with the designer and then deploy them to the viewer or iHub, but yes.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have further questions.

Hi BIRT Guru,

Thank you for your reply. Where can I find the download link for latest "sample viewer" ?

As I have mentioned, I have tried almost all the the links provided by Eclipse and the Actuate documentations but they are no longer contain the downloadable files.

I tried the H-Type but rather interested in "Sample Viewer" for the moment

Thx & Rgds,
