Render report failed getIVUpdatedObjects
jtsnr

I am running a report using iportal and ihub3 that is failing with the stacktrace below. The report has parameters. Certain parameter values will cause the report to fail. However, running the SQL manually outside the report no issue is found and the query returns results.

The SQL is logged in the jsrvrihub.exe log file.

Is there anywhere else that might give me more clues as to what is causing the problem?

Hi Jtsnr,

I would typically recommend moving the report back into the designer and attempt to replicate the issue within the designer. Then the next step will be to determine which values cause the error to happen and which don't. With this information a pattern/commonality may be able to be identified as to why these particular values are causing the error which can then in turn be used to make modifications to the report.

I would also recommend trying to trace the job run further up in the log files as a getIVUpdatedObjects stack trace is typically caused by another issue/error happening earlier on in the generation process.

Could you please check if there is the slash (/) like "Company / Account" in your parameter settings or in your column name settings in the report? Sometimes, The culprit of this issue is because the name contains the slash (/) like "Company / Account". After removing that slash, then the report runs fine.

You can try this out and see if it works.

Thanks,

Any update for this issue?

Thanks,

Hello,

Thanks both for your suggestions. I am still experiencing problems with the report. I identified a problem parameter and then ran the report locally through the designer. The report ran without any problem - I have never been able to reproduce the problem through the designer.

I have also removed the parameter from the report and hard-coded it's value in the SQL query instead. In this case the report runs without any problem. So this suggests there is a problem with the parameter in some way. However I can't identify what. There seems to be some issue with the server as the parameter works correctly via the designer.

Thanks

Hi James,

Could you provide some additional details on the parameter which you have identified as causing the issue.

What type of parameter is it?

How is the parameter value being applied?

What is the structure of the parameter value being submitted?

Could you attach a simple sample report based off of a sample data source, such as classic models, which contains a parameter that replicates this issue?
