Hi,

I have a simple BIRT report, where-in it displays the feed status of various input feeds.

The report displays a table from data set, with columns as. "feedGroup", "FeedType","Status", etc.

As a requirement i have to display the contact details of the different teams from which we are receiving the feed files.

I can do this by creating a hyperlink on the table column "feedGroup", pass the report parameter to another drill down report to display the contact details.

(Contact details are available in a data set)

I however want to display the contact details in the same report, may be a bookmark on a data element, which displays contact details of specific "feedGroup", which the user clicks in the master table

Can you please suggest as how to accomplish this or any other suggestions where i can display the contact details dynamically depending the choice by the user

Please let me know if you need any further details from my side

Thanks

Sorry for the delay. You could use a second table in your report that lists the contact details, then set a bookmark expression in the contact table and a matching hyperlink expression on the original table that would point to your internal bookmark, then you'd have the ability to jump from one to another. Let me know.

Thanks,

However what if i need to pass the row value to the new table, i.e.

The contact details are specific to different teams, therefore i want only specific contact details to be displayed when the user clicks on the hyperlink

If you put the bookmark on the row of the second table, you'd be jumping to specific rows. You could do javascript to hide/show just this row as well, if you wanted.

What is your BIRT version? I could make you an example.

I am using BIRT RCP, 4.3.1, and an example would be very helpful, thanks

Here's one thing you could do. The attached report uses a subreport in the group footer that limits the query based on the outer table value. The inner grid is bookmarked and the customer number hyperlink calls a function in the header and passes the value of the subreport table to show/hide. Hope this helps.
