Multi-select in cascading parameter

<p>I am currently using BIRT v3.2.22 and trying to modify a report to allow multi selection in a cascading parameter for 2 of its parameters. <p>However, I can't seem to integrate this approach with my report. The sample report from the link above defines query from the data set (Query section) in BIRT, whereas my report design defines the entire sql query in the beforeOpen method (for more flexibility I'd say), I'm guessing this is the reason why it won't work.</p>

<p>Could anyone confirm if the solution in the link above only works when the script is defined in the data set?</p>
<p>Are there any other approaches to solve this issue? Thanks in advance.</p>
