exporting report content to a pdf without the birt viewer to render flash content
midani

Hello: I am working in an environment where the BIRT Designer/IHub Server is in place. The full features of the BIRT viewer were not utilized for this POC (proof of concept). Is there a short-term workaround to export BIRT reports to a pdf file so that it renders flash content? If so, could you offer a solution? Also, if you have experience configuring the BIRT Viewer, could you share for development environments with an existing solution in place (for the front end), which need to develop a sound methodology to efficiently migrate to the BIRT Viewer solution for the exporting of .pdfs and other file formats. One last note, if the BIRT Viewer functionality displays a lot of information to the end user, we want to minimize that when they export the .pdf file format.

--Any help sincerely appreciated. Michele

Hi Midani!

I tested this on my end and was able to recreate it only if the PDF is displayed in a web browser. Can you verify if you're viewing the PDF in a web browser or in a PDF reader? It should work if you open the rendered PDF in Adobe.

As far as configuration of the WebViewer, what kind of configuration changes are you trying to make? If you're wanting to create a custom toolbar or something like that then checkout this <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='

What do you mean by a lot of information to the end user? One possible solution for this, if your information is in a table, is to group the table and provide drill through links. This would allow them to open details of the report through the viewer later if they need to see the content.
