Run iHub F-Type on port different than 8700
georgeb
<p>iHub F-Type, small template is running well on Windows, can access as <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='
http://localhost:8700/iportal/login.do'>http://localhost:8700/iportal/login.do</a>
; and also remotely. </p>
<p> </p>
<p>Trying to change the port 8700: updated acserverconfig.xml and replaced all occurrences of 8700 to 8710 or to 80. Restarted the Windows 'Actuate iHub 3 Service'. Still <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='
http://localhost:8700/iportal/login.do'>http://localhost:8700/iportal/login.do</a>
; reachable <a>and
http://localhost:8710/iportal/login.do</a>
; <a>or
http://localhost/iportal/login.do</a>
; not reachable. did this on two different Windows machines, same result. </p>
<p> </p>
<p>Any ideas? Thanks -</p>

<p>In addition to the changes you have already made within the acserverconfig.xml there is also a change required in the acpmdconfig.xml. The acpmdconfig.xml can be found within the ./BIRTiHubFType/BIRTiHub/iHub/etc directory.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>You will need to change the Connector port from 8700 to your desired port.</p>

<p>To expand on the information provided by Jesse, please see the below:</p>
<p> </p>
<div>Please make sure that the iHub is fully shut down before making any changes, and back up any edited files before the edits are saved.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>The following change assumes that the built-in SAML implementation has been disabled. To do this, edit the file at [Visualization_Console_Home]/WEB-INF/web.xml as follows.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Before:</div>
<div> </div>
<div> <context-param></div>
<div> <description>The SP ID for SAML SSO</description></div>
<div> <param-name>SAMLEntityID</param-name></div>
<div> <param-value><span style="color:#ffa500;"><em><strong><a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='
http://localhost:8700/iportal'>http://localhost:8700/iportal</a></strong></em></span></param-value></div>
;
<div> </context-param></div>
<div> </div>
<div>After:</div>
<div> </div>
<div> <context-param></div>
<div> <description>The SP ID for SAML SSO</description></div>
<div> <param-name>SAMLEntityID</param-name></div>
<div> <param-value></param-value></div>
<div> </context-param></div>
<div> </div>
<div>The web server's Connector, which defines the listener port, is configured in the file at [iHub_Home]/etc/acpmdconfig.xml. The entry in the file should look like the following.</div>
<div> </div>
<div><Connector port="<span style="color:#ffa500;"><em><strong>8700</strong></em></span>" secure="false" server="server" protocol="HTTP/1.1" maxThreads="75" acceptCount="500" compression="on" useHttpOnly="true" redirectPort="8443" enableLookups="false" maxSpareThreads="45" minSpareThreads="15" emptySessionPath="true" connectionTimeout="20000" maxHttpHeaderSize="8192" compressionMinSize="2048" compressableMimeType="text/javascript,text/html,text/xml,application/html,application/javascript" disableUploadTimeout="true" useBodyEncodingForURI="true" noCompressionUserAgents="gozilla, traviata"/></div>
<div> </div>
<div>The "port" reference highlighted above can then be changed to the desired port. Please make sure that the port in question is available and that the user who will be running the iHub processes has the correct privileges to open a socket on that port.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Finally, there are entries in the file at [iHub_Home]/shared/config/acserverconfig.xml file that point to the Tomcat listener that runs Visualization Console. Please back up this file, find all references to the relevant port (8700 by default), and edit these to new port.</div>

<p>Jesse, adjusting <span style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:'Source Sans Pro', sans-serif;">acpmdconfig.xml as you suggested helped. Thanks.</span></p>
