can't edit Ihub 2 dashboard when connecting with OpenVPN
jar

Hello,

When I am at the office I can edit a dashboard in our Ihub 2 server, but when I am connecting through a OpenVPN connection from home this is not working.

When I go to the dashboard and edit it I see it as I normally would. But when I open the menu under the arrow at the right top side it only gives me the option to rename. I am logged in with the same username as I would when at the office.

searched all over the internet but I can't find anyone even having the same problem.

Quite frankly I don't have a clue to what can be the reason for this behaviour. Any pointers would be appreciated...

Kind regards,

Jeroen

Hi Jeroen,

This may be a symptom of something happening to the session object when it is passed through your VPN. I've not experienced this before, but I will test later this evening through my own VPN to see if I can replicate a similar behavior.

I would recommend performing a capture with a tool like fiddler to examine the traffic occurring when selecting the down arrow. I would get a capture of both the working and non-working scenarios to see if you can spot any differences between the two.

I just tested in my iHub 2 environment when connected through a VPN and could not replicate the behavior.

Thinking about this a bit further, there is also a chance you are running into a cross domain issue due to the environment/VPN configuration. Although I would typically expect a more dramatic behavior than just missing items from a context menu, this may also be something that is occurring.

In addition to capturing the traffic, I would also check your browsers debugging console for any errors. As with the capture, check the output from both the working and non-working scenarios to look for any differences.

Hello Jesse,

Thank you for your response and sorry for my late reaction. I will look into it. And I will report back here when I have a result. Might be a short while though... :-).
