Decreasing Performance with only adding a Data element

<p>Hi! I'm using BIRT 4_2_1 in integration with JSF applications. My issue comes from the time the report takes to generate on runtime. It's very quick, but recently I have had to add some other data to be displayed. I used "this.queryText" to populate my Datasets because their are dynamic, I have only Three Datasets. When just adding the "Data element" to the report's layout when the end user generates the report it slows considerably...it is not the query it is just when I want to display that single Data. Any ideas of how can I improve BIRT's performance on this?</p>

<p>Well, this is embarassing. I thought there wasn´t a problem with the query because it was the same query that fills some fields on a previous screen of the application. But it was... there were no joins in the query there was simple unions between tables of obviously different structure so there was the performance affection.</p>

<p>I've modified it suppressing the natural joins with inner joins, as it should have been from the start.  </p>
