Actuate Java Components - behind firewall
rgleason

I have an architectural & configuration question regarding AJC and how to integrate report viewer (reports) output into a div tag on my public page(s). We have deployed the AJC on Tomcat running on CentOS. The Tomcat is behind our firewall. Our application is calling reports from a set of report links and JSAPI.

While on the Intranet this works fine. However when we are not on the network (access via public domain), we are able to get everything else with the exception of the BIRT Content.

Now, I've read about reverse proxies in the BIRT AJC Developer Guide and the only details I see pertain to the Logon redirect in struts-config.xml. I would like specific information about how to configure struts-config.xml in a way to permit BIRT Content Access through our app, if it can be had.

Thanks,

Hi RG,

In the documentation you can find on this location: http://developer.actuate.com/be/documentation/ihub31-dev/JC/custom/index.html#page/customizing-dk/iPcustom-intro.03.5.htmlyou
will find the explanation on how to setup AJC with a reverse Proxy.

The sample is for the login action but it is also mentioned that you need to do it for all actions in the struts-config.xml file.

Basically you have for each action a part which is within comments. You need to un-comment it and to comment the one currently used.

On the top of the page you have also other elements to set in order for the proxy redirection to work properly.

Thanks,
