Issue with formatting in Web Viewer in TRIRIGA 3.4/BIRT 2.6.2
rcrane11

We are developing reports for a TRIRIGA 3.4 application, which uses BIRT Reports 2.6.2 jars. We are developing in Eclipse with the 2.6.2 BIRT jars as well. We have developed three forms (not reports) that have complicated layouts that require multiple layers of grids and many cells that are combined in different ways so that the output matches the format of the mandated form. When running the report locally in Eclipse, the form is formatted as expected in the web viewer, Word and PDF, with minor differences as documented for BIRT. When we deploy the report into the TRIRIGA development environment, the Web viewer version formatting is changed—it appears that it is squishing all the text up inside one cell, rather than spreading it across the combined cell. How can this be addressed? We are assuming there is likely some difference in dlls between the Eclipse environment and the TRIRIGA one, but we aren’t sure we’ll be allowed to find the difference and deploy new dlls into our system environment (if that is even an approach). Are there settings we can change in the report file to address this? I’m attaching a snip of the web viewer version from TRIRIGA, the PDF of the same form and the report design file.

Thanks

It almost seems that percentage widths just aren't recognized by the browser. Everything with a set width seems to keep that width. Or maybe the viewer css styles aren't loading. Without a copy of TRIRIGA, I won't be able to do any testing on this issue.

Not that you probably want to do this, but if you put every element inside a single grid with a set width, it seems your layout would look more like you're expecting.

Thanks--we've tried a few settings, in particular clearing out the column width for columns used in some of the merged cells, and that has helped.
