open RQM birt report with birt designer

<p>A customer has sent me a birt report that is fetching data from rqm. I tried to open it using latest birt designer but I got some java null errors. The customer says it was developed using birt 2.6</p>
<p> </p>
<p>I downloaded birt 2.6 but when I double click on eclipse, nothing happens. Any work around or fix to open the report? A help or tip will be greatly appreciated</p>

<p>Which version of BIRT did you try opening it in when you got the errors?</p>

<p>As far as I know, you should be able to open a report design in a newer version without issue. It should just be going backwards where an error occurs. My thought is that the issue is related to something specific within the report design versus the version it was created with.</p>

<p>Could you also attach the stack trace(s) you are receiving when opening the report?</p>
