Changing dataset dynamically

I have a report which needs to work with multiple databases. The dataset for the chart calls as stored procedure which is different for databases. Now i need to change the dataset that the chart uses based on the database type that i am connected to. Is there a way to do it?

Are you going to need to change any other values on the chart besides which data set it's using(Y Series, X-Series, groupings, sorting, etc)?
 
How many potential data sets will you need to be able to select from?
 
Which version of BIRT are you using?
