Fonts rendered bigger in PDFs

Hi,

The reports I create in BIRT need to be rendered as PDFs. The font to be used in the report body is Arial(10). When I run my report and view it as PDF, the font appears bigger, i.e., Arial(10) looks like Arial(11). Because of this issue, the report which should originally span 3 pages is becoming 5 pages long or more. 
I use the BIRT designer 4.4.0 on Windows 32-bit machine.

Appreciate your help in identifying a fix for this issue.
