Can you attach an example for us to look at? Also, have you tried using the sorting tab on the crosstab in the property editor to force sorting the way you'd like the results to be displayed?

Based on the sample screenshot, these looks like columns from the database as opposed to rows.

Can you build a sample report based on classic models or a sample flat file data source with dummy data that we can run? This will allow us to better understand exactly what you are wanting as the request is currently a bit unclear.

Hi,

Please find the Birt output attached where the records are displayed in alphabetic order. But the actual query displays the records in different order. You can test by, Take a table which will have Name field and S.No. Write a query which display the Names in the S.No order (ascending). Then create a cross tab to display the names, you will notice the names displayed in alphabetic order, but whereas the actual query displays the names based on S.No. order (ascending). Help in a solution.

In order to sort by S.No instead of Name, you are going to have to include S.No into the cube for the crosstab in order for it to be available to be sorted on.

For example, add S.No to the group with Name as the parent of Name and then add both to the crosstab. This will allow you to sort based on S.No. Then you can hide the fields with S.No by Property Editor -> Advanced -> Section -> Display -> set display to "No Display".

Take a look at the attached sample report for reference. I have used the above method to sort the Customer Name based on Customer Number.

Here is an alternative method as well. You can add an attribute to the desired dimension and then you can sort based on the attribute in the sorting tab for the crosstab.

Take a look at this devshare: <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='
