getColumnValue function in Hierarchy chart.
appform

Hi All,

I am facing issue in my hierarchy chart.

Please go through my attached sample report design.

Actually i am facing 2 problems in this chart.

1. The chart is getting loaded in second run only.

2. I tried to do a hierarchy on the basis on contact name so i created a computed column using below expression:-

BirtStr.concat(row["CONTACTLASTNAME"],row["CONTACTFIRSTNAME"])

and then created a group for contactname.

and wrote below code in onCreate method:-

vars["g_data"] += '{"name": "' + this.getRowData().getColumnValue("CNAME") + '","children": [';

in this case the report is not able to produce , if i'll remove this group in second run it is working fine.

Please suggest me how it will work in first run with contactname.

Please solve this ASAP.

Thanks,

Swapna.

In the sample you provided I do not see the computed column or group you are describing. However, the report variable you have created appears to be getting generate properly.

Additionally, the chart is never rendered properly in my environment. Doing some quick testing it appears in your script to build the d3 chart the d3 object is not available and causing the script to fail on line 10.

I would recommend adding debugging statements to your script and then using the chrome debugging tools to step through the script to figure out where and why it is failing.
