MultiRecord Report with New Report After Some Record Counts
siddharth101

Hi All,

I have a doubt regarding generation of a report with certain limit (count of records i.e 1000). after which a new report should get generated let say for a total record count of 1500, remaining 500 records should come as a new report.

Example:

There is report containing EmployeNumber 1-1500 with other details of the employee. When we generate (Clickingt run button) 1-1000 records should come in one PDF (Output.pdf) and the remaining 500 records will part of new PDF(output_2.pdf).

Thanks in Advance.

Siddharth

There are a few ways I could think of to do this depending on if you know how many EmployeeNumbers you'll have to start with:

If you know the number, you could create the logic to call your report the necessary number of times with the starting EmployeeNumber passed to the report as a parameter.

If you don't know the number, I can think of a couple ways:

1) Create two reports. One would be your design that will be the one that you output to PDF. The other would be the report you would call first. It would have a query that got the count of records for the query and parameters you're using. It would then have a loop that called the other report with the appropriate record numbers based on the count returned by the first report.

2) Create a single report where you find the total count based on the query, filter the table to only show the first 1000 and then have a loop to recall the report passing parameters to call the correct records til complete.

If you'd like an example of one or more of these, let me know your BIRT version and which one you'd like to see.
