Can you please define the use case for what you are trying to accomplish?

For report parameters, we want to display our own UI components & we are having few custom components in our application (other than standard components like combo box, list box & text box etc.) which we want to use as report pre-run parameters. In order to display our own UI for those custom components as a report parameters, we want to include some new display types & data types in report parameters type of designer pro & ihub engine.

So that whenever we fetch the list of report parameters for a report from iHub server it will give us the meta-data of those report parameters & based on that meta-data we'll show our own UI.

can you specify what the data types are?

Basically what i need is some sort of type may be display type which can differentiate or be used as an identifier for displaying the type of component for any report parameter.

Let's say if i'll introduce a new display type "CustomDisplayType1" then my application knows that in case of "CustomDIsplayType1" we need to display the custom1 component and data type for that component is let's say an array of string because it might be the case that this component provides multiple data elements which i need to pass as a report parameter to report.

Instead of a new data type why not use something like the Prompt Text or Help text for this purpose? Since you are creating your own parameter screen you will not be using this.

Also you should be able to pass arrays to BIRT (that is what multi-select parameters are). Worst case send delimited strings.

Another option is to pass it as an object, or use JSON.stringify to turn it into a string.
