Recursive object hierarchies

<p>we are evaluating Birt and our data connection is PostGreSQL Server. The data model cotains a recursive object hierarchy we want to query and drill down in the report.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>To our knowledge SQL queries on recursive object hierarchies are only supported by "Common Table Expressions" (CTE).</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Does Birt support these queries? Is there any possibility to query recursive object hierarchies with Birt?</p>

<p>I've not tried this myself. However, if it is supported by the PostgreSQL JDBC driver you may be able to use a standard JDBC Data Source.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Otherwise, you can use a Scripted Data Source/Set or create a custom ODA.</p>
