Creating New DCR: Templating Error page
System
Teamsite v5.5.2
System: solarais 8
Just went through an upgrade from 4.5 to 5.5.2. Having trouble with creating a new DCR.
A new DCR can only be created if a pre-existing dcr is modified in a particular branch. Otherwise, it returns err: For example , if we try to create a DCR in RES/ResOffices workarea the err is:
Type resoffices_star does not exist in workarea /default/main/pro/aawr/RES/ResStaff/WORKAREA/Maintenance
Last DCR was created in the ResStaff work area so it still checks for that path. Somewhere, it's not being cleared out.
Can please you assist.
Thanks

Without being able to see what is actually happening - it sounds like there is either a permissions problem or a configuration problem. I'd start with permissions first.

to add to what fish has replied, check
Area Security:and File Security:
Just check whether they have write permissions...

Hi, thanks for your reply. I do not believe there is a permission issue. I have checked them thorougly. If I edit a file in branch A, and then create a new dcr in branch A it works. only if i edit a file in branch A first. After editing a file in branch A if i go to branch B and try to create a new DCR, it errors out cause it's checking for type/category in branch A. where I was last!
Hope i 've exlained it better now.
Thanks again

It's kind of hard to get a complete picture of what you are running in to based upon this information. You might want to post your configuration files here, and even the DCR, along with a step-by-step description of what works and what does not.
You may also want to file a support case with Interwoven Support, so they can walk through the information as well. If you do both, be sure you give the support person the link to this post thread as well.

You don't happen to have two browser windows connected to TeamSite on the same client machine - logged in as different users - do you? If so - that could be the problem (that stopped being supported as of 5.0 - the only way to do that is to use completely different browsers like IE and Netscape - one for each user)
