Sorting/Ordering precedence in BIRT

Basically I just want to know what type of ordering has precedence.
 
If I return a result set which uses an ORDER BY in the query, does any other ordering/sorting that may be in place on the tables in the body of the report still take place?

To my knowledge, any ordering/sorting applied to an element such as a table or crosstab will still take place.

Also if you add a group to a table it will try to add a sort. If you do not want this to happen there is an advance property on the table - 'Sort by groups'. Just set it to false.
