3301: cannot get report parameters for the specified file
prasaddln

Hi,

I have installed ActuateBIRTDesignerProfessional_x86_64-iHub31.exe and BIRTiHubFType-iHub31.exe.

when i try to start iHubServer it goes to tutorial page, there i have downloaded the report as i was not having any reports and tried uploading it. But after uploading i am unable to run the report. I am getting a pop up saying "3301: cannot get report parameters for the specified file".

By going through tutorial i have made a simple listing report and tried running it from Birt Designer pro trial version, it ran properly from there and got results. So i published the project to Server. But after publishing the project again I am unable to run the report, it gives same pop up "3301: cannot get report parameters for the specified file".

Please guide me how to overcome this.

This report works without errors in our environment. I suspect that you may have restricted OS-level permissions or a blocked port contributing to this issue.

1. What happens if you manually upload the file and attempt to run it? (Use the iHub3 UI and select "Add File".)

2. Can you provide the output to "netstat -anp"?

We are looking for the status of the following ports:

Required during and after installation: 8000, 8001, 8100, 8433, 8500, 8700, 8432

Required after installation: 8010, 8011, 11100, 11101, 12100, 13500, 14000, 14100, 14200, 15200, 18500, 21000, 21500

Something else that occurred to our team while discussing this issue: It could be related to permissions of the file. Are you logging onto the iHub with a user that has permissions to this report? Have you changed any permissions of the iHub's installation files, specifically in the "data" directory?

If you'd like a detailed analysis and further instructions on trouble-shooting, please provide the logs from ../ihub/data/server/log.

Thanks!

Hi Team,

I am also getting the same error while deploying "Eclipse BIRT Designer Version 4.3.2.v20140211-1400" in latest iHub version 3.

I tried editing the report in latest trail version and uploaded the report but getting same error.

Any suggestions??

I'm not sure I understand exactly what/where you are facing the issue.

If you run your report in the designer, do you get any errors?

Are you only getting this error when you have published the report to your iHub 3 installation?

gowtham

Hi Jesse, I am getting this error only when i publish in iHub 3. It is working fine in designer.

JFreeman

Is it possible for you to attach a sample report based on classic models or a flat file data source that reproduces the issue?

Do you get this error when you login to the iHub as administrator and run the report?

gowtham

I am using Admin credential

Not all the reports are giving this error.

Some reports which having parameters are running fine and some reports while running populate's 3301 error and some reports after passing parameter showing 17070 error.

All these reports are running fine in BIRT (Kepler Service Release 2), Actuate BIRT latest version and iServer SP4

When migrating to iHub this problem is occurring .

Still will create and send you some sample report

JFreeman

Could you also please attach the log files from your iHub installation?

These may provide more details on the specifics of the error.

Hi Jesse,

I tried to get installer.log using below command

[root@dev /]# find . -name "installer.log"

[root@dev /]#

Please let me know it's location.

JFreeman

Sorry, I should have been more specific.

Please attach the log files located in ./iHub/data/server/log

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I am having the same issue with a couple of my reports. I have iHub 3.1 installed on a single test box, and have some of our old report designs running with no issue, but also have a couple that give the "3301 error". I am attaching the log file from the location:

C:\Actuate3\BIRTiHubVisualization\modules\BIRTiHub\iHub\data\web\iportal\logs

I'm hoping this will give you the needed info.

Thanks!

Scott

JFreeman

Could you zip and attach the log files from the ./iHub/data/server/log directory?

The iPortal log attached does not give enough details about the issue and there should be more info with the logs located in the above path.

Jesse,

Good afternoon! Here is the files that you requested. Thanks so much for your help.

Scott

JFreeman

Thank you for the log files.

Based on what I am seeing initially in the log files, it looks like your issue may be related to a JDBC driver that is missing or not being loaded properly in the new environment:

[Thread 28] 2015-07-15 09:53:57 UTC-0400 org.eclipse.birt.report.data.oda.jdbc.JDBCDriverManager.findDriver()

WARNING: Failed to load JDBC driver class: com.inet.tds.TdsDataSource

[Thread 28] 2015-07-15 09:53:57 UTC-0400 org.eclipse.birt.report.data.oda.jdbc.Connection.connectByUrl()

SEVERE: JDBC connection throws exception: Cannot load JDBC Driver class: com.inet.tds.TdsDataSource.

I would start by verifying the driver has been added to the environment properly.

Jesse,

Good morning! Thanks for pointing out the driver issue. I should have realized that to begin with, as I'm almost positive I had the same issue with this report last month when I was running the iHub F-Type. I'll hunt it down in a bit, and let you know the results.

Have a great day!

Jesse,

Hello, again! After doing some searching through the files, I came up with the following locations that seem to have the correct driver, but the reports still throw the error:

JFreeman

A JDBC driver should be added to this location: \BIRTiHub\iHub\Jar\BIRT\platform\plugins\org.eclipse.birt.report.data.oda.jdbc_4.4.0.v20150116-0132\drivers

You will need to restart the iHub after adding the driver for it to be loaded/recognized.

CodeRookie

Jesse,

The closest I have to that location is this:

C:\Actuate3\BIRTiHubVisualization\modules\BIRTiHub\iHub\Jar\BIRT\platform\plugins\org.eclipse.birt.report.data.oda.jdbc_4.4.0.v20150206-1039\drivers

Although the numerical values at the end are different, I'm guessing this is the location I am looking for?

Thanks,

Scott

JFreeman

Yeah, that should be the correct location.

Sorry, I had forgotten my installation is still from an early release so the version number is a little bit off.

Hi Jesse,

I figure out the issue in my case.. in DB setting case sensitive was not enabled and in my report i have used capital letters for Table name because of that i got "3301" error.

After changing DB setting it's working fine.

Thanks,
