Cascading Parameters containing two multiple selection parameters
Ravi Santhosh

Hello,

I have requirement where the cascading parameters should contain multiple selection for two or more parameters. Eg., I have a list of customers where i will select one customer, based on that i will get a list of warehouse codes where the multiple selection is going to be made. If i select two or more warehouse codes i need to get a list of area codes. Now if I am placing the Area parameter in the cascading parameters list, the ability of multiple selection is disabling in the Warehouse parameter. Can any one let me know Is there is any other way to do this?

It appears than when creating a cascading parameter group within the designer, only the bottom level parameter is allowed to have multiple selection.

In order to work around this, you could create a custom parameter page which would give you the flexibility you need.

Hi,

Indeed there is a GUI issue disabling "Allow Multiple values" but actually we can enable multi-value at any level of a cascading group through advanced properties. It works very well with a recent version:

Select the warehouse parameter

In properties click "advanced"

"Scalar parameter type" -> Multi value

Hello,

Thanks for the information. But my BIRT version is 3.7.1 where I am unable to set the multi values option to the cascading parameter. And i should not be able to use the custom parameter page.

I was locked around the restrictions.
