How to make a post request in RestApi_UI Data Source

Hi,
 
From the below link I came to know about the Rest API ODA plugin for birt, which supports JSON responses and prepares data from the response

However in the example attached in the above link, there is a simple get request made to fetch the data.
 
Can we make a POSTrequest using this plugin ? If yes please let me know.
 
Also I am facing an another issue, the Rest URL to my project works perfectly fine on the browser, but when I add the same in HttpRequest text box of the Rest API plugin and clicks on "Test Connection", it says "Ping failed"!

What version of BIRT are you using?
 
From what I can find I'm not sure it is going to support POST requests. However, I would recommend testing it out.
 
Regarding the error on test connection, what is the full error you are receiving?

Thank you for the full stack trace. I get the same thing in my 4.4.1 environment with the majority of the URLs I have tried.This may be an issue with the ODA running in the newer version of BIRT. The ODA was designed for 3.7 and I'm not sure it has been explicitly upgraded for the newer versions.
 
Your best bet may be contacting the creator of the ODA directly.
