RE API use a form of the viewer?
Katieee

If the RE API is used does that make the birt viewer redundant or does it create a viewer through the code instead?

I am just curious as to if the viewer is even used if the RE API is used - instead of the standalone viewer with report etc

Thanks!

The report engine API is part of the BIRT runtime and the sample viewer includes/uses the runtime for generating the report output. So, in a way, you are already using the REAPI when using the viewer.

Hi Jesse,

Thank you for replying - I knew that the viewer used the runtime after doing some more reading after posting this. . One more thing would integrating birt web viewer into a rcp app work the same as a none rcp app?

Thanks for the answers Jesse!

There may be some differences depending on how the RCP application is created but the same basic principals for integration will be the same.
