How to add a dynamic marker to a BIRT chart

I have created a BIRT report with a chart which gets data from a oracle database. I got the chart done properly. Now i need to add 4-5 markers to the chart. Values for markers which could be changed are also stored in a database.

It generates a marker but at the wrong location. Seems like it doesn't properly get marked according to the x axis values.

I have found the issue with the script.
I tried giving a hard coded value to the min_value then it worked. After debugging i found out that the data format of the X axis was with decimals which didn't match with the integer format value taken from the database.
From the format chart window i changed the axis data format to a number with 0 decimals.Then it worked

By default, the X-Axis of a column chart is set as a Category Axis, meaning that each column created on the X-Axis is based on a unique value in the data set column selected for the X-Axis. The following screenshot shows where the Is Category Axis attribute is set:

When the X-Axis is categorized on numbers, it gets a bit confusing because you would think each point on the X-axis is a number, but it is actually a string. Consequently, the number you see on the X-axis has no meaning when it comes to create the Marker Line. In the next screen shot, this is what happens if I set a Marker Line with a value of 2:

If I don't define the X-Axis as a Category Axis, then the values on the X-axis are numeric, and the Marker Line can be positioned according to the vales shown on the X-Axis, as shown in this screen shot when the marker line is created with a value of 2500:

Oh! now i understood the confusion. While changing the data type i might have changed the category axis check box too.
So problem was with the axis marking as category axis
