How to pass user authentication details to drill-through child report to avoid ask authentication wh
Srinivas Yarra

Hi,

I have designed two reports one is parent report and it contains drill through functionality, second report just childreports it's expecting input parameters from parent report and execute in new window.

These reports are working fine in iHub3.1 server. If we use html page as client and passing authentication information using jsapi. It is running parent report in html page. But we click on link in parent report then it is asking for authentication before render the report. if we give user/pass then child report is working fine.

How to avoid authentication while drill through child report.

I'm using Birt Designer Professional 4.4.0 (commercial ) and iHub 3.1 server where reports are deployed in.

Please find sample code in the attachments.

Thanks,

Srinivas

Hi,

In your HTML page, you use "localhost" in the initialize method (line 13). Try using the machine name instead. The bottom line is that the machine name used in the initialize method must match the machine name used to launch the HTML page.

Hope this helps,

Thank you pricher for your reply.

It is working if iHub server in same machine where we are accessing from html page. But,we have ihub3.1 and jboss in same machine and deployed my application in jboss server. It is internally accessing the reports using jsp page. We are accessing application link with ip address. In this scenario we are getting iHub server login page with machine Ex:
http://abc.com:8700/iportal/login.do
. Here, we are passing user information to jsapi in jsp page for authenticating parent report.

Thanks,

Hi,

Try one of two things:

1. Access the application (the html or jsp page) with the machine name, not the IP address;

2. If you want to use the IP address, add it to your server's hosts file

The bottom line is that there must be a match on the machine name between how you call the application and what you use for the JSAPI authentication.
