<p>Hello out there ...here is the problem. We have a requirement to render and place a barcode in the left margin of a letter in a vertical orientation. We have tried using the Plugin for Rotating Text but our font does not render properly and this is a know problem with that widget.</p>

<p>My thought was to place the barcode on the page as a normal horizontal text object, let it render properly and then write some code to rotate it so that it ends up rotated 90 degrees. From my reading of 'Integrating ans Extending BIRT' it sounds like this might be possible. Can someone give me a reality check before i invest time in coming up to speed on Report Item Extensions?</p>
