Calendar TOC

Hi,

I have a meeting schedule report: list of meeting attendees on the vertical, and times of the day on the horizontal (see report1.png)

I wanted to put the calendar outside of the report. So my window will have 2 frames:

navigation frame on the left which will have the calendar (gui or javascript), and the meeting schedule report on the right (see report2.png).

2. Is it possible to determine the anchors on the report and have the calendar on the navigation pane go to the section of the report appropriately (ex: click on the 28 on the calendar will show the meeting schedule for May 28)

One of the reason why I need to keep the calendar and the actual report separate is that when I print the report, only the meeting schedule report is printed, the calendar isn't. Also, the calendar acts like a TOC, with the exception of being just a long list of dates.

Any help or documentation pointing me to the right direction is much appreciated.

Thanks.

In what output format is the right frame (daily meeting schedule)? Is it HTML?

If so, you can create a Bookmark in the report design for the daily meeting schedule for each row header (day of the year). For example:

'myBookmark' + row["CALENDARDATE"]

If you haven't used Bookmarks before, it will create an ID tag in the HTML output. You can then reference that element for manipulate the DOM, or to use it as an anchor tag in your case.

In your left frame calendar, for each date, you can have a link to the HTML page with the addition of the # and the bookmarked date in the URL. For example:

http://server/...&__format=HTML#myBookmark2015-05-30

If using the OS BIRT Viewer, you can use the same bookmark created for each row, but the URI will be different, using the __bookmark parameter. For reference, the available OS BIRT Viewer parameters are located at http://www.eclipse.org/birt/documentation/integrating/viewer-usage.php
. For example:

http://server/...&__bookmark=myBookmark2015-05-30

Thanks for the quick response Clement.

Yes, the report is in HTML format. I'll try this approach. Thanks a lot!
