Hi All,

I'm evaluating BIRT tools for a specific requirement.

Below are the installed box specs and versions:

Windows box:

MS Windows 8.1 Pro x64 bit, 4GB RAM, 1TB HDD

BIRT Tools:

ActuateBIRTDesignerProfessional_x86_64-iHub31

BIRTiHubFType-iHub31

My questions are:

1. Can 20 people be able to Log In to the Server(through Internet) with unique Login ID?

2. Can they view published Reports?

3. Can they do Ad-Hoc reporting and save them in separate storage folders which should't be accessible to other users(20 login IDs)?

4. Can these users may login concurrently?

Thank You.

Before getting to your questions, you should be aware your available RAM is quite low. The minimum requirement for iHub is 8GB. That said, i've seen and used 4GB environments for testing purposes. However, any level of actual production usage and concurrent activity is going need more RAM than 4GB.

Regarding your questions:

1. Yes (logins can be managed within the iHub itsel for externalized to an LDAP or Active Directory)

2. Yes (Users can view whichever reports, dashboards, etc that they have been granted permissions)

3. Yes (Report Studio can be used to create, edit and save reports in an Ad-hoc fashion)

4. Yes (Concurrent login is available. The only limitations on concurrent login will be hardware or data limitation related)

Keep in mind that F-Type has a data usage limitation and 20 concurrent users could use the maximum daily data output quite quickly depending on what they are doing.
