Recommended development environment
vraaijmakers

Hi, where can we find guidelines of setting up a development environment that would work perfectly when publishing files and resources to the iHub server.

We are struggling to get reports to work on the server when using libraries, excel sheets etc.

Basically, these reports always work in development environments, never in a published environment.

So were are looking for guidance in order to create procedures for developers.

Thanks,

Vincent

What is your current process for publishing reports and their resources to the iHub?

Could you provide some more details about your environment setup and the issues you are facing when publishing?

Publishing from within the designer through it's built in GUI publishing context should automate the vast majority of the library/dependency placement into the iHub's resources.

Thanks Jesse.

We deploy indeed from designer to the server. (Un)fortunately we are dealing with a project setup the we used before for our Birt viewer projects, copying files into the tomcat environment. Our folder structure is just flat and mimicking the tomcat folders.

So we are actually thinking about starting from scratch and so seeking the guidance for the recommended initial setup.

There are quite a few variables to account for with your environment setup and the best thing to do is to create a setup that works best with your specific environment and requirements.

With that in mind, we will have a Solutions Consultant contact you directly regarding your environment and requirements.
