How to tell if exporting in report script
mmacmillan74

Is there anyway in the scripting of the report using report context or what not to know if the script is being run as part of an export (pdf) and not the initial generation of the report. The issue is that there is encoding of images in the script that are then decoded from javascript. But when exporting it is running the script based on the images that are decoded...so they encode them again and report does not display.

Any Ideas?

Thanks in advance !

If you are using Open Source BIRT, you can use the following to determine the output format:

var myOutputFormat = reportContext.getOutputFormat();

This only works for Open Source BIRT due to its RunAndRender style of report generation.

I am using the ViewerServlet and EngineServlet. is this what you mean by opensource. Will getOutputFormat be blank or null for not chosing the outputformat (Output Option On Export Menu Pick)?
