XML Datasource based on query result
keerthink

Hi,

Do you have any documentation on how to link a file generated from database as XML file using a query to the Birt DataSource?

The name of the XML file will be different dependent on a unique id for each query.

Also, any information on applying Report Parameters to filter rows for a report using XML Datasource will be highly appreciated.

Thanks for any help.

To answer your first question...

It is possible to execute a query to the database in the beforeFactory event. Look at this detailed example in Matthew's reply @ <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='

After you execute the query, your result will be the filename (string) and then you can set the name of the XML file to XML Data Source in the beforeFactory, or via the Property Binding of the XML Data Source.

As for the second question...

In the XML Data Set's "Edit Data Set" dialog box, you should have the ability to add a Filter condition. The option should be on the left hand side of the dialog between "Parameters" and "Property Binding".
