window.opener in DCT

We are invoking a DCT (new DCR) using CCI from A JSP. We need to pass on the values captured in JSP to the new DCR hidden field.
We tried two things ==>
1. In the jsp window after opening the DCT through CCI we are trying to set the values in the DCT. This does not work.
2. We are trying to use window.opener inside scripts in DCT to get the vales from JSP. But window.opener is always null inside the DCT.

Can somebody please tell me what needs to be done.
