Line chart : Average value to be shown only for last year

Hello,
 
I am using Opentext Analytics designer 4.4.0
 
I want to show average value only ones in the line chart and that also above last year as in attached case its 2013.
 
I have attached two screen shots :
1) line_chart.jpg : Current output
2) line_chart_require.jpg : Required output
 
I have also attached a sample report.
 
Need to show average value only ones and at latest year(2013 as in attached case).

What is the point of a line chart with one point? line charts show trend, With only one point there is no trend?

Actually this is a requirement where one series will show a trend (eg: population) throughout all years and other series should show average population only ones and that also above latest year (in this eg : 2013).

Simplest solution is to simply filter the data.

Like mblock has said. use a year parameter that you can select multiple values in that case you can compare any periods be it just a yr or all the yrs.

could you please create a sample report out of it or use the above attached in my comments ?
 
The year is not handled by parameter value in this case (no parameters).
 
What I am looking is that there is a series which shows population/value like : 34, 54,56,77,33 for month and year : (Jan-2014,Feb-2014,Mar-2014,April-2014, May 2014) and other series will have average of (34+54+56+77+33) = 50.8 which will be shown only above "May 2014" with only 'one dot'.

I have attached an example were the first series shows the trend and the second series is average of all values.
 
Now here when we look at second series we see a trend of value (35679.242) at 2011,2012,2013 but I want to show (35679.242) only above 2013 as in attached screen shot : 'LINE_CHART_REQUIRED.jpg'

You can add an HTML5 chart script to remove all points except the last in the Edit Chart > Script > Interactivity > Chart Area > Load > Invoke Script as follows:

I'm not sure I understand your use case with a single dot to represent the average, but you could add a average line across the chart. That visual representation would appear clearer to the end user?

When i exported the report to pdf,xls,xlsx formats the output is not hiding the points.
 
I thing it is due to implementing the script in chart area of interactivity.
 
Could we add in chart script so that the points will be hidden in pdf,xls,xlsx format as well?

One solution is not use the Load script (because that's pure client side) and add similar code to the afterRendering event.

Another solution is to change all the data points for the first series to null, except for the last in the afterDataSetFilled event.

Those attached designs export to PDF, PPT, DOC, except XLS/XLSX.
 
 
The option that will work in ALL export formats is to make the data points null for all except the last. I created two computed columns in the Data Set. One is an aggregated column to get the last date. The other is to hold the average, only if it is the last date.
 
The final attached design will export too all formats as expected.
