Exporting Excel Functions from Birt Report

I Have two columns A1 and B1, C1 is the addition of A1 and B1. I have created a table the two columns are placed from Database and the result column is the computed column which performs the Addition. I tried enable the formulas by making the visibility of XLSX as false and the others as true, but this did not work. Then i have tried by setting the userproperties by giving ExcelEmitter.DisplayFormulas = false; ExcelEmitter.ValueAsFormula = true; ExcelEmitter.ExtraxtMode = true; ExcelEmitter.Formula = null; but even this did not work. So any one can kindly help me in this.

Where are you setting these properties? Is this OS BIRT or Actuate BIRT? What version of BIRT. Please provide details.

I have added the properties for the field under userProperties and set their value in Advance - Property Editor.
the version of the BIRT is - BIRT Designer Version 4.4.2.v201410272105

I do not think this has any affect on the emitter? Where did you find info that it did? Additionally as far as I know only the Actuate commercial Excel emitter has the ability to export formulas.

Then what is that i am suppose to do to get the formulas when report is exported, like what are the changes need to be done.

To my knowledge there is no way to do this with the OS BIRT emitter. Only the commercial Actuate BIRT emitter supports this. I can be wrong.

Using this Commercial BIRT Product, is there any way i can export the excel functions and what are the steps to be followed. Can you please explain me.

Every expression in addition to JavaScript has something called EasyScript. This is very similar to Excel formulas. Any item that uses EasyScript when exported to Excel will be converted to a formula.

I did not find any option as EasyScript in the expression field.

Then you are using Open Source BIRT not commercial BIRT which can be downloaded from here (you need the OpenText Actuate Analytics Designer).

As I said in the beginning of this thread, this option is not part of Open Source.

I am using Ubuntu 14.04 there is no option of download(OpenText Actuate Analytics Designer) for Ubuntu.

The Spudsoft Excel Emitter does support formulae and that user property is for for that emitter (See <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='https://bitbucket.org/yaytay/spudsoft-birt-excel-emitters/wiki/UserProperties)'>https://bitbucket.org/yaytay/spudsoft-birt-excel-emitters/wiki/UserProperties)</a>The question then becomes are you using the Spudsoft emitter or the BIRT native one? (I believe this emitter was provided with the BIRT engine since version 4.2.) Check that first and if the answer is yes then you need to look at the special settings/properties and where they get put.
