Use index.html in IHub to show authorized reports/dashboards
jar

Hello,

We are upgrading from Iserver to IHub 3.1.

And after this upgrade we don't want to present our end-users with the portal but with a HTML front-end. Using a Welcome application and linking to different dashboards/reports/applications this is sufficient.

But we also want to include security in reports/dashboards/applications lists in the HTML front-end.

We have a few groups of reports/dashboards that are clearly for one or a few security groups and for those we use an application. This is oké, works nice.

But we have about 15 reports that have very specific security settings. Almost all combinations of those 15 reports are possible. Somebody may see report 1,5 and 12 and another report 1,8 and 12, ect...

Using the IHub portal this is no problem but like I said we want to hide the portal for the end-user and use a HTML front-end in which we want to show the end-user a list with only those reports/dashboards/applications for which he or she is authorized.

Is it possible to have a report that only shows the reports/dashboards/applications that are authorized for the specific user that is currently logged-in? And if not in a report ... mayby some other way?

I am fairly familiar with BIRT designer but I have not found a way to do so.

Kind regards,

Jeroen

UPDATE : we have a solution by generating a .data file with the reports/dashboards and roles (for now based on CSV, trying to get that info from the DB) using ACL and a report using that .data file in the default dashboard. A less manual way would be nice though ...
