JDBC Issue (ojdbc7.jar)

hi All,
 
I am using BIRT 2.3. 
 
I have developed a report which pulls the data from an Oracle 12. I used ojdbc6.jar during the design and used ojdbc7.jar to deploy the report on a web-server. (I have attached an example report.) 
 
I get the following error message on the web-server (using ojdbc7.jar). I have found a similar error message for another database for BIRT 2.3 <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=270451'>here</a>. I do not believe that can possibly be relevant since that my issue relates to Oracle not SQLBase.
 
Please let me know if there might be any possible reason.

Guys I really need a feedback on this. I need to get BIRT 2.3 to work with OJDBC7.jar

How is it possible to debug the BIRT 2.3's viewer to see what exactly is going wrong when I used the driver?

Is there something specific about the ojdbc7 driver that the ojdbc6 cannot do?
Based on that bug report, this appears to be a bug with the 2.3 release and was resolved in the version 2.5 release. From what I can tell there is not a patch available.
 
I know this may be out of your control but you should investigate upgrading from 2.3 to a newer version of BIRT. 2.3 is a rather old version and the newest release is 4.5.

I don't think there is anything wrong with JDBC6 (it is just my boss wants to connect to Oracle 12c with JDBC7). Our vendor-provided Web-service framework which is using JDBC7. This sets the application driver to (JDBC7) for the BIRT plug-in too. But I just dont know how it is doing it. 
 
Anyhow, if I could find a way to override the location of the driver from the default (set by the application) to something in let say a "before open" method then I would say that would have solved the issue.

I tried both from inside Eclipse BIRT and our vendor product but no luck. I guess I am missing something here. 
 
I thing the only reason they are making us to use BIRT 2.3 is that they defined a customized data-source driver for Oracle which is taking care of context in the database implicitly; but they just don't want to do the job one more time for BIRT 4.5.
